Buffalo Bills $1.4B Sale To Benefit Detroit

By Edward Cardenas

GROSSE POINTE SHORES (CBS Detroit) - Charities in the Metro Detroit will reportedly benefit from the $1.4 billion sale of the Buffalo Bills which was owned by the late Ralph Wilson, a Grosse Pointe Shores resident.

A story in Buffalo News stated a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the NFL football team will go to the Grosse Pointe Farms based-Ralph C. Wilson Foundation.

The foundation will support charities in Detroit and Buffalo, the story noted, but did not state which charities would receive proceeds from the sale.

Jeffrey Littmann, trustee of the Wilson estate, stated in a video posted on the Buffalo Bills website that while exact plans for the proceeds are not being released at this time, "we look forward to someday giving you a full report on what our intentions are and what our plans are going forward."

NFL owners approved the sale of the Bills Wednesday to Kim and Terry Pegula, who also own the Buffalo Sabres.
