HAZMAT Called To Scene Of Fluid Spill In West Bloomfield

WEST BLOOMFIELD (WWJ) - A garbage truck is responsible for spilling hydraulic fluid over the roadway at the intersection of Maple and Beverly Crest in West Bloomfield.

According to authorities, the driver of the dump truck struck a tree, causing the spillage, Tuesday afternoon.

A HAZMAT team was called to the scene and cleanup was well underway as the afternoon commute began.

The driver of the truck is not believed to have been under the influence of any substances at the time of the accident, according to a West Bloomfield Police spokesman; although it was not immediately clear what might have led to the crash.

No injuries were reported.

Police said everything should be cleaned up by around 6 p.m. Tuesday.
