LeVert Selected To Preseason All-Big Ten Team

ROSEMONT, Ill. -- University of Michigan junior guard Caris LeVert was selected to the 2014-15 Preseason All-Big Ten today as announced by the conference prior to its media day held in Chicago. LeVert's selections is the three straight year a Wolverine has been and to the preseason squad.

Joining LeVert on the preseason team included Indiana's Yogi Ferrell, Nebraska's Terran Petteway and Wisconsin's Sam Dekker and Frank Kaminsky, who was also named as the Big Ten's Preseason Player of the Year. The Badgers were a unanimous selection to win the conference title with Michigan State second and Ohio State third.

LeVert, who was an All-Big Ten second team selection last year, had a breakout sophomore campaign starting all 37 games and averaging 12.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. He helped guide the Wolverines to their first outright Big Ten title, as well as a second straight appearance in the NCAA Elite Eight.

In addition to his All-Big Ten honor, he was named to the 2014 USBWA All-District V Team and was U-M's Rudy Tomjanovich Most Improved Player and U-M's Steve Grote Hustle Award recipient at the Wolverines annual postseason celebration. In LeVert's two seasons in Ann Arbor, he has compiled a 59-17 two-year record with a 27-9 Big Ten record. He was also part of U-M's 2013 NCAA national championship appearance.

LeVert and the rest of the Wolverines begin the 2014-15 season with an exhibition game against Wayne State on Monday, Nov. 10. The regular season opens against Hillsdale College on Saturday, Nov. 15, where U-M will raise its 2014 Big Ten championship banner.
