Authorities Await Autopsy Results For Ypsilanti Man Found By Couple Walking Dog

YPSILANTI (WWJ) - Investigators are hoping autopsy will shed some light on what happened to a man who was found close to death in an Ypsilanti Township neighborhood.

According to Derrick Jackson with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office says a couple walking their dog on Tyler Road found the man late Thursday night.

"And they came across a gentleman laying on the side of the road so they called 911. When medical personnel arrived on the scene they quickly realized it was a serious medical condition," said Jackson. "He was pronounced deceased on the way to the hospital."

The man's name has not been released, but investigators say he was approximately 35 years old and a resident of Ypsilanti.

Jackson said there were no obvious signs of foul play or visible wounds on the man, but nothing is being ruled out.

A suspected medical problem was not disclosed.

"So we're really waiting for the Medical Examiner's toxicology report and the autopsy to let us know a little bit more about maybe what the cause of death was," Jackson said.

Anyone who may have information about the man or this case is asked to call the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office or the Crime Stopper anonymous tip like at 1-800-SPEAK UP.
