"The Best Of Me" Is Simply "The Best"

DETROIT (WWJ) - "The Best of Me" is by far one of the best movies I've seen in a long time - make that – one of the best movies I've seen ever. Yes, it's that good.

Starring James Marsden as Dawson Cole and Michelle Monaghan as Amanda Collier, "The Best of Me" is their beautifully-told love story. The two are childhood sweethearts who ultimately travel different paths and find themselves reunited after 20 years apart. They're brought back together when they return to their hometown for the funeral of their beloved friend.

"The Best of Me" is based on the bestselling novel by renowned author Nicholas Sparks, who also wrote a number of other New York Times bestsellers, including "The Notebook," "The Guardian," and "Safe Haven."

What makes "The Best of Me" so special is, for one, it's a story that everyone can relate to. That's because no one forgets their first true love. Watching Dawson's and Amanda's love rekindled after being lost for so long tugs at the heartstrings and will have you pulling for their relationship.

"You are my dearest friend, my deepest love. You are the very best of me." That message from Dawson to Amanda, just when it appears that their love is lost forever. But with all true loves, if it's real, it lasts forever even though it may not seem that way on the surface.

"The Best of Me" is, simply put, "the best." It's beautifully written, acted and directed.  And, it's the perfect date-night movie. Don't miss it.
