Livonia Residents May See Low Water Pressure Due To Maintenance Work

LIVONIA (WWJ) -- Officials have announced that some Livonia residents may have low water pressure on Saturday evening and leading into Saturday night.

City officials said that crews will perform repairs on valves Saturday evening until 6 a.m. Sunday morning. Residents and businesses in the area west of Farmington Road could see discolored water flowing out of their taps. The Water Department will be conducting repairs on water pressure-regulating valves at Eight Mile and Newburgh starting at 10 p.m. on Saturday.

It will not be necessary to boil water, according to the city. Repairs may temporarily cause discolored water, which can be resolved by waiting at least one hour and then running the cold-water tap in the lowest sink in the house for one to three minutes. If the water is still not clear, repeat in another hour, but do not run the hot water until cold water is running clear. .

The repairs are expected to be completed by 6 a.m. on Sunday.
