CBS DETROIT - Detroit Pistons rookie guard Spencer Dinwiddie has been cleared to play in Thursday's preseason finale, according to NBA.com.

Dinwiddie suffered an ACL tear in January, and the injury ended his junior season at Colorado. Several months later, the Pistons took the 21-year-old Dinwiddie with the 38th pick of the draft. While recovering from his injury, Dinwiddie has missed all the team's preseason games to this point.

This week, however, after making it through three straight practices of three-plus hours, Dinwiddie has been cleared to play up to 20 minutes in Detroit's preseason game Thursday. While he said he has a little rust, he has readjusted more quickly than he expected, and teammates have noticed.

"I think it's coming back very well," Dinwiddie said, per NBA.com. "[Caron Butler] made a comment, he said he was surprised. I didn't have as much rust as he thought I was going to have. I think that's a good sign that I'm playing well and being fluid out there."

Dinwiddie was leading Colorado in scoring (14.7), assists (3.1) and steals (1.5) when he tore his ACL.
