As was expected, the Michigan Wolverines got pounded at the hands of the Michigan State Spartans on Saturday in a 35-11 beatdown.

During the pre-game warmups, the Wolverines did a little pounding of their own.

Junior linebacker Joe Bolden took a large tent stake and drove it into the Spartan turf, seemingly in an attempt to fire-up his teammates. Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio didn't take too kindly to the gesture as he addressed it after the game.

"Throwing the stake down in our backyard out here and coming out here like they're all that....We weren't going to cool off of it," Dantonio said.

It didn't take long for Michigan coach Brady Hoke to issue an apology, taking full responsibility for the action because the stake was used during practice as a motivational tool.
