Elderly Man Vanishes After Calling Family To Say He Was Lost

UPDATE 11/7: Police say Sanford was located Thursday at the Kroger on 11 Mile and Hoover in Warren. He was not injured and has been reunited with family.

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - Police in Southfield are asking for help finding an 83-year-old man who disappeared after apparently getting lost while out driving.

Police say Grant Sanford was last heard from around 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4 after speaking with a family member on the phone. That relative told police Sanford first said he was lost somewhere on the east side, but also stated that he was somewhere on Grand River.

Family members say Sanford suffers from dementia and could be very confused. He's believed to be driving a black Ford Fusion with Michigan license plate "7DFZ08".

Anyone who might have seen Sanford or has information on his whereabouts is urged to contact police at 248-796-5500.
