Michigan Dismisses Frank Clark From Football Program

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Defensive end Frank Clark has been dismissed from the Michigan football team after being accused of domestic violence in Ohio over the weekend.

Coach Brady Hoke says it was a "tragic situation" involving 6-foot-2, 270-pound senior.

The 21-year-old Clark pleaded not guilty Monday to charges of assault and domestic violence. Police called to a Perkins Township motel on Saturday have released photos showing bruising on the face and neck of the alleged victim, 20-year-old Diamond Hurt.

Clark was arrested in 2012 for stealing a laptop computer from a dorm room. He was sentenced under a law that cleared the felony from his record after he completed probation.

Clark has 42 tackles and 4 1/2 sacks this season for Michigan.
