When you work your entire life to achieve one goal, and the moment finally arrives, it has to feel surreal.

That's exactly what happened to San Jose Sharks rookie goaltender Troy Grosenick. Grosenick took the ice in his NHL debut against the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday evening.

He did the unthinkable. He recorded a shutout in his first game while facing 45 shots. It was a record for most saves in a shutout debut.

What was even more special about the performance, was the fact that his entire family was there to witness it.

It brought his father to tears.
