Ric Flair said it best: "To be the man, you have to beat the man."

Mark Dantonio hasn't exactly been able to beat the man yet, but he most certainly is being paid like he did.

According to a report from USAToday.com, Michigan State's Dantonio, the nearly $6 million man, is the second highest paid coach in college football. He earned a whopping $$5,636,145 in 2014.

Dantonio only trails Alabama's Nick Saban in earnings. Saban, the former MSU coach, is reportedly being paid $7,160,187 in 2014.

This is somewhat shocking to me, just because there are so many zeroes on his paycheck. But honestly, at the same time, I believe Dantonio has earned his money.

Michigan's beleaguered Brady Hoke came in 30th, earning $2,856,000. Urban Meyer came in 6th, earning $4,536,640.

Who would have thought Dantonio makes more than Meyer?
