8-Year-Old Boy Hurt In Detroit School Bus Accident

DETROIT (WWJ) - An 8-year-old boy was injured in school bus accident Friday on Detroit's west side.

Following the crash, at around 3:15 p.m., police say the boy was transported to Sinai-Grace Hospital after he complained of neck pain. He was the only person in the accident who hospitalized, although it was earlier  reported a second person had minor injuries.

According to police. a 58-year-old Detroit man driving a Volkswagen Beetle was headed south on Pilgrim when he struck the school bus traveling west on Mansfield.

There was no immediate word on any charges.
