Sunday Outlook: Warmer Temps With Possible Showers

DETROIT (WWJ) - Metro Detroit woke up Saturday with a fresh coating of snow on the ground, but is more heading our way?

Forecasters say it's not likely. In fact, it's actually going to warm up a bit this weekend. It's going to warm up on Sunday, with highs in the mid 50s and a shower in spots.

Enjoy the brief warm-up while it lasts, because forecasters say temperatures are dropping back down to the low 30s Monday and Tuesday next week.

Here's the extended forecast from the CBS Detroit weather team:

Sunday: A few showers early with overcast skies later in the day. High 53F. Winds SW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 30%.
Sunday Night: Considerable cloudiness. Low 31F. Winds NW at 10 to 15 mph.

Monday: Cloudy skies early, then partly cloudy in the afternoon. High 31F. Winds NW at 10 to 20 mph.
Monday Night: A few clouds. Low around 20F. Winds NNE at 10 to 15 mph.

Tuesday: A few passing clouds, otherwise generally sunny. High 33F. Winds SE at 10 to 15 mph.
Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy skies in the evening, then becoming cloudy overnight. Low 29F. Winds SSW at 10 to 15 mph.

Wednesday: Cloudy skies early, then partly cloudy in the afternoon. High near 40F. Winds WSW at 10 to 20 mph.
Wednesday Night: Mostly clear skies. Low 27F. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph.
