Police: Roseville Woman Shot By Boyfriend Who Then Killed Himself

ROSEVILLE (WWJ) - A 55-year-old Roseville woman is in critical condition after being shot by her boyfriend who police say then killed himself.

It happened Saturday night at the couple's home in the 26000 block of Ridgemont Street, west of Gratiot.

According to Roseville police, the 55-year-old man and the woman were arguing when he produced a handgun, pointed it at his partner, told her it was "time to die," shot at her and missed.

After she ran outside screaming for help, her boyfriend found her hiding behind a car and shot her in the chest, police said, then turning the gun on himself, taking his own life.

Neighbors called 911 and the woman was rushed to a local hospital where she remained Monday, recovering from surgery.

Police said the man had "long term health issues" but did not provide any details.

No names were released.
