Woman Shot In Head, Dumped In Street On Detroit's East Side
DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are searching for suspects after a 19-year-old woman was apparently left for dead on the city's east side, with a gunshot wound to the head.
The woman was found just before 1 a.m. Tuesday in the 19000 block of Blackmoor, near 7 Mile Road and Outer Drive.
Police said a neighbor called 911 after discovering the woman on the grass between the road and the sidewalk. The neighbor wrapped the woman in a blanket while waiting for an ambulance to arrive.
The woman was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Her name was not immediately released. Officials say the outlook isn't very good, and plans are being made to donate the woman's organs.
Police on the scene told WWJ's Mike Campbell that investigators believe the woman was shot and then dumped from a vehicle.
Investigators are hoping someone might have seen something and they're encouraging anyone with information to speak up.
