CBS DETROIT - Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Gerald McCoy set the market at his position when he signed a seven-year, $98 million deal in October, and he hopes Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh raises the bar even higher when he hits free agency after this season.

"He's an awesome player and I wish him all of the best," McCoy said Wednesday. "I hope when his contract does comes up he breaks the bank. He's an awesome player, an All-Pro, Pro Bowl player. He was Rookie of the Year. He's just a dominating force since he's been in the league. Everything that's coming to him, he deserves it."

Pro Football Focus ranks McCoy and Suh second and third in the league among defensive tackles, but while Suh's rating is slightly lower than McCoy's, he has played 44 more snaps than McCoy and 126 more snaps than Aaron Donald of the St. Louis Rams, whom PFF ranks at the top of the list.

McCoy noted both Suh's physique and his drive when he discussed what impresses him most about the Detroit star, whom PFF credits with 29 quarterback hurries, more than any other player at that position.

"He's just a physical specimen," McCoy said. "He's a dominating presence, and he's a relentless player. When you watch him, you can tell by how he plays he wants to physically impose his will on whoever he faces. If you're in his way when he's trying to get his job done, you've got some problems on your hands. He's just a really dominating player and he's fun to watch."

McCoy said he has no advice to offer Suh regarding the free agency process.

"He knows what he's doing," McCoy said. "He's smart, he has a degree, he's great with business, he's great with his own marketing, and he's a smart guy. He doesn't need my advice. He knows what he's doing."
