ROSEVILLE (WWJ) - A Roseville teen is in jail, accused of threatening students and administrators.

Bond was set at $500,000 at an arraignment Tuesday for 17-year-old Tyler O'Neil who is charged with making a false report or threat of terrorism — a 20-year felony.

Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith says O'Neil acted "irrational and angry" when returned to Roseville High School, where he used to attend, looking to talk to a student. He allegedly threatened that specific student, school staff and other students in general on Dec. 8.

"First thing in the morning, on a Monday morning, showing up and threatening people that he was gonna come back with a glock, and come back with knives; and then later in the day calling one of the vice principals and threatening harm to her if she doesn't stay off his Facebook page," Smith told WWJ.

O'Neil left when police were called.

In a media release, Roseville Deputy Police Chief Glandon said there was no indication that O'Neil had a weapon with him while on school property, but police provided extra security that day as a precaution.

Glandon reiterated that O'Neil was no longer a student at the school at the time of the incident, adding that police did not immediately know if he was enrolled elsewhere.

O'Neil has a history of violence and that's what warranted the high bail amount, according to Smith.

"The school is very well aware of Tylar O'Neil," Smith said. "He has a history of violence at the school and was kicked out of school and had no business being at the school."

Glandon said the investigation is still ongoing, the motivation for the threats and how the suspect knows the student he was looking for is not yet clear.

O'Neil will be back in court on Monday, Dec. 22.
