Detroit Police Precinct Target Of Apparent Bomb Threat

DETROIT (WWJ) - Crews are investigating an apparent bomb threat at a police precinct on the city's northwest side.

Police say they received a phone call Wednesday morning from someone who claimed a bomb was inside the 12th precinct, on 7 Mile Road just west of Woodward Avenue.

Crews responded to the scene with K-9 units to search the building and surrounding area before giving the "all-clear."

Reporting live from the scene, WWJ's Charlie Langton said investigators believe the threat might have been called in by a "disgruntled person" who was at the precinct on Monday.

Authorities said they didn't think the threat was credible, but they reacted out of caution.

Evacuations for area buildings were not ordered. No injuries were reported.
