By Edward Cardenas

SOUTHFIELD (CBS Detroit) - Social media sharing website YouTube has taken a year of videos posted on the site and condensed it into six minutes for its annual "Rewind" post.

This year, "Turn Down for 2014," offers a unique take on some of the biggest viral videos including the ice bucket challenge with some of the web's biggest stars including Smosh.

This is the fourth year YouTube has created a video looking back at the year that was, each time set to a different song that was popular.

For the 2014 version, YouTube set the video to "Turn Down For What" - with samples of other songs - which was filmed  in six location from Los Angeles to Tokyo, featuring 100 volunteer YouTubers, nine days of photography, and five late-night hosts into the clip, according to Wired.

There was also appearances by the spider dog which pranked people in Poland, tiny hamster eating the YouTube logo and people singing "Let It Go."

"2014 was chock full of YouTube moments that vaulted into pop culture," Kevin Allocca, YouTube Head of Culture & Trends, wrote in a blog post.

According to YouTube, more than 1 billion unique users visit YouTube each month and 100 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute.
