FORD FIELD (CBS DETROIT) - Detroit Lions right tackle LaAdrian Waddle suffered a knee injury in the third quarter of Sunday's win over the Minnesota Vikings.

Before trainers helped him onto a cart that took him back to the locker room, several teammates knelt beside him, and wide receiver Calvin Johnson went over and tapped him on the helmet in support. Even one of the Vikings, defensive end Brian Robison, went to say something to Waddle.

Lions head coach Jim Caldwell said he was not certain whether the injury would end Waddle's season.

"Obviously any time they get carted off, it's not good, so we'll see," Caldwell said.

Center Dominic Raiola expressed sympathy for Waddle but added the Lions believe in backup Cornelius Lucas.

"That's a big loss," Raiola said. "That's our guy out there, and it sucks for him. We're going to hurt for him, but we're totally confident in 77. He's had game experience I don't know how many weeks this year. We look at him as a starter, and he goes out there, transforms into the starter, and I'm happy for him, for his opportunity."
