Power Outages In Novi, St. Clair Shores Cause Monday Traffic Snarls, Headaches

ST. CLAIR SHORES (WWJ) A traffic light outage  in all four directions caused a traffic headache for east side commuters Monday morning.

Traffic was stopped at Moross and the I-94 service drive, pilot Bill Szumanski reported, hovering over the busy intersection in St. Clair Shores in Chopper 950.

"People are sometimes playing nice, sometimes not," Szumanski said.

Traffic was backed up for quite a stretch in all directions.

In the meantime, about 400 homes and businesses are without power in Novi Monday morning as well.

A DTE Energy outage map shows the outage near Eight Mile and Meadowbrook.

The cause is listed as "an equipment problem." Power should be back on by noon, DTE Energy said.
