HIGHLAND PARK (WWJ) - Highland Park Police are looking for a man who abducted and sexually assaulted an 11-year-old Detroit girl earlier this month.

Det. Brian Menge said the child was walking on her way to a school bus stop when it happened, Wednesday, Dec. 10, sometime between  7:45 a.m. and 8:15 a.m., along Church St. in the area of McNichols and John R.

"Prior to getting to the location the bus was supposed to meet them, the suspect grabbed a hold of her at gunpoint, forced her into a vacant home and sexually assaulted her inside the home," Menge told WWJ Newsradio 950.

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned back male around 6 feet tall and 160 to 170 lbs. — possibly in his mid-20s. He had  "pitted skin" on his cheeks, a short goatee and dark eyes.

Menge said the victim pointed out the man had a deep, raspy voice.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact Highland Park Police or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.  A reward of up to $1,000 is available from Crime Stoppers for information leading to an arrest in this case.
