Family Seeks Help Finding Missing 85-Year-Old Woman

DETROIT (WWJ) -- The family of a missing elderly woman from Detroit is asking for the public's help to find her.

The last time anyone saw 85-year-old Henrietta Pearson was near her home on 7 Mile and Dequindre on Detroit's east side last Sunday.

Pearson's daughter, Carla, said that she last spoke to her mom on Saturday but became concerned when Henrietta didn't answer the phone on Monday and Tuesday.

"We think she has dementia -- she really hasn't been diagnosed with it -- but she does have the early stages as far as forgetting, sometimes she gets confused, but she always knows her way home," Carla Pearson said.

Pearson is 5-foot-8, weighs about 160 pounds and has salt and pepper colored hair. Carla Pearson said that she thinks her mom may have been wearing a black hat and either a red or camel-colored trench coat and gym shoes.

"She just didn't respond to any calls, which made me worry," Carla Pearson said. "I drove up and discovered that she wasn't anywhere around. She left the house, but no one knows what happened after that."

Anyone with information on where Henrietta Pearson could be is being asked to contact the Detroit Police Department.
