Recent College Grad Murdered While Sitting In Car Christmas Day

DETROIT (CBS DETROIT) - Instead of sending their daughter to graduate school, one Detroit family is preparing for her funeral.

Twenty-two-year old Christina Samuel died after two men opened fire on the car she and a friend were sitting in on Carlisle street in the area of Gratiot and 8 Mile roads in Detroit.

Christopher Moore, Christina's older brother, tells WWJ's Stephanie Davis how difficult it has been since his sister's murder.

"It's been extremely hard," said Moore, "just trying to accept the baby of the family being gone and especially an innocent girl like my sister ... never had a fight in her life."

No arrests have been made in the case.

"If someone would just imagine their baby sister being innocently gunned down," said her brother. "Never had an enemy or never harmed anyone, and imagine the devastation that the family is dealing with and they knowingly had some information that could help lead to an arrest or solve the case, it would be a no-brainer."

He says his sister, who is the youngest girl of nine siblings, was set to start graduate school next month at Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne, instead she will be laid to rest on Saturday.

The family is hoping anyone with information about the shooting would contact police.
