Man Charged In Armed Robbery Of Auburn Hills Cash Advance Store

AUBURN HILLS (WWJ) -- A Pontiac man has been charged with a felony in the Dec. 30 armed robbery of a cash advance store in Auburn Hills.

Anthony Franzro Chasen, 40, was charged with armed robbery -- a felony punishable by life in prison -- and false imprisonment, a felony punishable by fifteen years in prison.

Officers responded to an armed robbery call at the Advance America Cash Advance store on Opdyke Rd. near South Blvd. on Dec. 30. The clerk reported that an African-American male in his 40s entered the store and pointed a gun at her while demanding cash.

The suspect tied up the clerk with zip ties before taking an undisclosed amount of cash and fleeing the store. The clerk was not hurt in the incident.

Chasen was video arraigned on Friday at the 52-3rd District Court before Magistrate Marie Soma. A not guilty pleas was entered on his behalf. Bond was set at $50,000.00 cash or surety.
