625-Pound Man Pleads Guilty To Making Bomb Threat
GRAND RAPIDS (WWJ/AP) - A jailed, 625-pound western Michigan man has pleaded guilty to making a false bomb threat after being arrested for driving on a suspended license.
Defense attorney Damian Nunzio told The Grand Rapids Press that police stopped 44-year-old Jeffery Klein on New Year's Day.
Klein later pleaded guilty via video from jail to making a 2012 bomb threat to a mobile home park. Sentencing is scheduled on Feb. 12.
Klein had missed court hearings over the past two years and said his large size and poor health prevented him from leaving home.
A judge ruled in September that Klein could enter a guilty plea via the Internet from his home.
Nunzio told the newspaper he was not sure how Klein managed to drive the day he was arrested.
