Nonprofit Groups Sought For Fundraising At Comerica Park

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Delaware North Sportservice -- the food, beverage and retail services provider for the Detroit Tigers -- is seeking charitable organizations and nonprofit groups to participate in its fundraising program in preparation for the 2015 season at Comerica Park.

Delaware North is looking for civic organizations, high-school boosters, churches and other nonprofit groups to operate concessions at the stadium in an opportunity to help to raise funds for the respective organizations.

"This program is an effective and attractive way for organizations to raise money without having to risk investing funds up front," Robert Thormeier, Delaware North's general manager at Comerica Park, said.

Delaware North Sportservice has a long tradition of working with its team partners to assist charitable and other non-profit groups in raising money for their organizations and communities. The fundraising program began more than 20 years ago and donates between $10 million and $15 million each year for nonprofit groups at venues across the country.

Organizations seeking additional information should call (313) 471-2677. All volunteers must be 18 years or older and must have proper credentials to satisfy the fundraising requirements.
