Suh Cries At Podium After Lions Lose To Cowboys

CBS DETROIT - In a rare display of emotion, Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh could not hold back tears Sunday after the Lions lost, 24-20, to the Dallas Cowboys in the first round of the playoffs.
Detroit had jumped out to a two-touchdown lead in the first quarter, positioning the team for its first postseason win since 1991, but the Cowboys held the Lions to field goals in the second and third quarters and held Detroit scoreless in the fourth.
Suh, now a free agent, was evidently trying not to cry even before his press conference began. Saying "please" twice, he asked reporters to keep their questions to only the game.
Suh's voice betrayed him as he described what he was feeling.
"Honestly," Suh said. "I didn't expect this. That's what it comes down to."
The team's reporter asked Suh whether he felt so strongly because he had left it all on the field all season, and Suh nodded, without speaking, then choked up as he replied, "For sure."
Looking upset, Suh then left the podium before returning later.

Suh was originally suspended for Sunday's game for stepping on Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers during the regular season finale at Lambeau Field. His suspension was overturned on appeal, however, and he contributed two sacks against the Cowboys.
Throughout the season Suh refused to answer questions about his impending free agency, deferring to his agent Jimmy Sexton, but the Lions have expressed confidence in their ability to re-sign him.
