Man Dies After Fire At St. Clair County Home

BURTCHVILLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a man has died following a fire at a home in St. Clair County.

Burtchville Township fire department Chief Mark Harrington tells the Times Herald of Port Huron that the fire was reported Tuesday morning by a passer-by and the dead man was the only person at the home.

Firefighters from a number of departments responded to the home about 60 miles northeast of Detroit.

The cause of the fire wasn't immediately known. Harrington says state police are handling the investigation.
