I thought it was a phenomenal idea, but apparently it was a joke.

An online report said the International Olympic Committee (IOC) had confirmed that 3-on-3 men's hoops would be an official event at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

According to betootaadvocate.com:

"We have spent many months weighing up this proposal, and our final call was to include the appropriated version of basketball into the 2016 Olympic program," Mr Bach explained to international sports news cameras at the IOC headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland.

"This is a trial program and one that asks a lot more of both administrators, hosts, staff and players. However, keeping with the spirit of The Olympic Games, we have decided to include the 3-on-3, half-court variant"

As it turns out, Betootaadbocate.com is a satire website and 3-on-3 won't be an Olympic sport.  (I confess, I fell for it).

Too bad, though.

If it had been true I know I'd watch....and just about everyone who played in a Gus Macker probably would, too.

Is this something you would watch?
