Websites, Apps Assist Auto Show Attendees With Parking

By Edward Cardenas

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) - Downtown Detroit is expected to be filled through Jan. 25 with automotive aficionados heading to Cobo Center for the North American International Auto Show, and they will be looking for parking spaces throughout the city.

To assist the hundreds of thousands of people who will be driving their cars into Detroit to look at the newest vehicles offered by automakers from around the world, a number of websites have been established with parking lot information, rates and even online parking spot reservations.

Some of the parking websites include:

  • The North American International Auto Show has a link to a map of municipal parking lots in downtown Detroit along with a map of the Detroit People Mover route.
  • BestParking.com offers a map of parking lots in downtown Detroit, hours, description of the parking facility, payment options and estimated parking rates. There are also Apple and Android apps for BestParking.com.
  • Motorists can reserve and pre-pay for parking at 414 Renaissance Drive and 700 Randolph at Parkme.com.
  • Website and app, ParkWhiz, allows drivers to search for parking spots, find amenities, view a description of the lot along with photos and book parking spot through the website or app.

Auto show attendees can also park at other lots on the periphery of downtown, and then take The People Mover to Cobo Center.
