Drummond's Putback Lifts Pistons Over Pacers, 98-96

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Brandon Jennings scored a season-high 37 points and Andre Drummond tipped in the last-second winning shot to lead the Detroit Pistons over the Indiana Pacers 98-96 on Friday night.

With 23.9 seconds left, Detroit called a timeout. Jennings took the inbounds pass and held for the last second shot. He drove to the bucket and missed the layup, but Drummond was there for the tip-in with 0.3 seconds to go.

Drummond finished with 16 points and 16 rebounds.

Roy Hibbert led Indiana with 14 points. David West and Damjan Rudez each had 13.

Jennings led a Pistons third-quarter comeback, scoring 19 of their 30 points during the period.

The Pacers have lost four of five while the Pistons have won 10 of 12.

With just under six minutes, Drummond converted the old-fashion 3-point play to start a 10-0 run and draw even with Indiana at 68. After Indiana (15-26) scored a couple buckets to take a 74-70 lead, Detroit closed the third on a 9-2 run and entered the final period up 79-76.

Detroit (15-25) maintained its lead until West hit a jumper to give put the Pacers ahead, 95-94. After Jennings gave Detroit the lead again from the free-throw line, West went 1 of 2 to tie the game at 96.

Indiana had a chance to take the late lead, but Hibbert was called for the offensive foul to set up Detroit to have the ball with the shot clock turned off.

Jennings was 8 of 13 from beyond the arc to lead the outside shooting for Detroit. He was 10 of 23 overall and made all nine free-throw attempts.

Pistons: Has won seven straight road games to tie the franchise record. ...They have won consecutive games over the Pacers for the first time since they won eight straight from January 2007-December 2008.

Pacers: Bench play continues to be a positive. With 50 points, the Pacers reserves have scored 30 or more points in 36 of the teams 41 games.
