Car Theft Turns Deadly At Burger King Parking Lot

WATERFORD (WWJ) - A 76-year-old man is dead after he tried to stop a woman from stealing his truck Sunday morning in Waterford Township.

Police say Clifford Haywald was run over by 38-year-old Ruth Pozdol in his 2001 Chevy pickup in a Burger King parking lot on M-59.

Pozdol, who is a Walled Lake resident, was last seen wearing a red parka coat with fur lining and the word "Ricks" on the back.

She was also wearing a horizontal striped shirt underneath her coat.

Haywald later died at a hospital from injuries he sustained in the incident.

Investigators are asking for help from the public in finding Pozdol - and the victim's red 2001 Chevy Pick-up.
