Tigers Utility Player Don Kelly Signs With Marlins

MIAMI (CBS Detroit) -- MLB.com confirmed reports that long-time, do-everything Detroit Tiger Don Kelly has reached an agreement with the Miami Marlins.

The deal is a Minor League contract including an invitation to Spring Training. Kelly spent six out of his seven Major League seasons with the Tigers, batting .234 with 23 home runs.

Kelly played all nine positions -- including pitcher -- at one point or another while with the Tigers. The 34-year-old batted .245 in 95 games for the Tigers in 2014.

Kelly has a .265 career postseason batting average, including a walk-off sacrifice fly in Game 2 of the ALDS in 2012 against the Oakland Athletics.
