Tigers Todd Jones Compares 97.1 The Ticket's Webmaster's Pitching Debut To His Very Own [VIDEO]

Day one of Detroit Tigers Fantasy Camp is in the books -- and I survived.

The day started off on the wrong foot, though.

To start the day, we walked into the locker room and received our uniforms. They looked great and they spelled my last name correctly!

We were told to check the schedule to see what uniform we would wear for the day...I read the schedule and saw we were the away team. I suited up and took a pic to send to the ladies (ladies sounds better than father, so let's just go with that).

I walked outside and then noticed my teammates are all in white. I had looked at Tuesday, not Monday, on the schedule. It's the kind of thing I always manage to do. I had to sneak off and change, hoping no one would notice. I was wrong. The looks I got when I retook the field were priceless.

Then we took batting practice. My coaches are former Tigers pitchers Dan Petry and Walt Terrell. Former closer Todd Jones threw batting practice, and I didn't do too hot.

Then it was time for the game: Petry asked who could pitch, and I was thinking "how hard can this be?" I raised my hand and got the honor of starting game one. I managed to give up only four runs in the first two innings while walking six. "Not bad!" I thought to myself. Too bad I gave up the only runs  the entire game for my team.

When it was time for batting, I did a little better. First, I got a hit to opposite field, second at-bat was a little rough. I barely hit it past my batters box, but managed to get on via a throwing error.

My third and final at-bat was by far the best -- and the worst time I had at the plate.

I got a great hit to opposite field, and as I took off from the batters box thinking I was going to get a double, I slipped and managed to hit myself in the back of the helmet with the bat. Having said that, I did get to first and another base hit. Thank God for the helmet.

I also found out there is a guy here named Mike whom I have been confused for multiple times.

I imagine tomorrow I will be sore as all can be and not be able to swing the bat.

Also I didn't miss my calling as a big league pitcher.

Todd Jones kindly talked to me after the game. He was an opposing coach so I figured I would ask him what he though of my pitching debut.
