The Detroit Tigers had an interesting winter.
The never went after Max Scherzer even though many believed Dave Dombrowski was just blowing smoke.
The Tigers did make a few moves on the final day of the Winter Meetings.
Tigers traded Rick Porcello for Yoenis Cespedes and Alex Wilson.
They also moved shortstop Eugenio Suarez and minor league pitcher Jonathon Crawford for starting pitcher Alfredo Simon from the Cincinnati Reds.
CBSSports.com ran a story called, "MLB winter winners and losers."
Writer Jon Heyman lists twenty winners and has Max Scherzer and his agent Scott Boras 3.
Tigers fell under the category of "Jury's Out."
They did seem to have interest in bringing back Scherzer, and it has to be a disappointment to owner Mike Ilitch, who badly seeks his first championship. David Price says he's open to listen, and while things got better for him in Detroit by the end, he's known to have had an uneasy transition from Tampa.
