Canton Man Charged In Jets Pizza Robberies

CANTON (WWJ) - A 24-year-old Canton man is behind bars after police say he went on a mini Jets Pizza robbery spree.

Spencer Hall faces three felony breaking and entering charges in connection with the crimes police say took place early Monday morning, beginning with a business on Palmer at Haggerty Road in Canton.

At around 1 a.m., the store's alarm sounded and Canton police were called to investigate. When officers arrived, they found the business had been broken into and cash has been taken, according to police. Just two hours later, Plymouth Township police officers responded to an alarm at another Jets Pizza on Ann Arbor Road — and they, too, discovered a break-in and robbery.

Police believe Hall planned to rob a third Jets — on Cherry Hill at Canton Center — just a few hour later, when he was spotted by an officer who'd been watching the store.  Police say Hall broke the storefront glass before apparently spotting the officer and running away.

Hall was found a short time later, hiding in a nearby wooded area, and was arrested.

Bond was set at $50,000 at an arraignment Tuesday in 35th District Court. Hall will be back in court for a preliminary exam on Feb. 13.

It's unclear at this time what connection the accused might have to Jets, or why else the pizza chain might have been targeted.
