1920's Footage Of Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb Emerges As An Instructional Video

For whatever reason, and maybe it's just because I'm a sports junkie I have found myself watching the PBS documentary baseball quite a bit.

It's an 11-part series and each episode runs about two hours long, documenting the game from the beginning. It really is interesting, even though I can't seem to find them talking about the 1984 Tigers.

You learn pointless facts that are great for trivia night, with questions like "How many stitches are on an official Major League baseball?" 216 of course!

"What is the circumference of a baseball?" 9 inches!

Today while browsing the world wide web, I found that Grantland.com produced a piece titled, "The Babe, Prime Pedro, and Baby Bryce: Taking a Trip Through Major League Baseball's Film and Video Archive."

I had to click on it. Who isn't fascinated by Babe Ruth, right?

There was a MLB.com video that features close up footage of the Babe as well as Ty Cobb.

It really is so interesting watching the way that Ty Cobb would hold the bat. And it never gets old watching Babe Ruth swing the bat.
