Man Convicted Of Murder In Shooting Over Trash At Mobile Home Park

PORT HURON (WWJ/AP) - A 52-year-old man has been convicted of fatally shooting a 43-year-old over what authorities say was an argument about trash at a mobile home park in St. Clair County.

After more than four hours of deliberation, a Circuit Court jury on Tuesday convicted Jess Bowman of second-degree murder and felony firearm. He faces up to life in prison when sentenced March 16.

Bowman was accused of shooting Timothy Belisle last August at the Americana Estates Mobile Home Park near 26 Mile and County Line Road, not far from I-94 in Casco Township.

Deputies initially responded to a call about a disturbance outside of a home, and learned that a shooting had occurred while on their way to the park.

When deputies arrived, Beslisle was found lying in the street with a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. Bowman was arrested without incident.

Witnesses said the altercation started over broken glass in the roadway, the Times Herald of Port Huron reported. Bowman's lawyer, Daniel Damman, argued that Bowman pulled the trigger to defend himself and his girlfriend.

Angela Dailey, Belisle's sister, says "justice was served."
