Report: Group Of Michigan Students Wants A Second Fight Song

Michigan's fight song "The Victors" very well might be the most recognizable fight song in all of college sports.

Why would you want to mess with perfection?

It seems like one group of Michigan students wants to have a more "modernistic younger sibling" to go alongside the classic. They want Eminem to be involved.

According to the Michigan Daily:

If a resolution presented to the Central Student Government on Tuesday night passes, the body will provide funding to a group of students looking to develop an additional thematic song to play at University athletics events.

Now I don't see the University ever approving another fight song. It was first composed in 1898. It's a staple at the University of Michigan.

A sophomore at the university spoke at a student government meeting recently in support of the song initiative, saying his goal was to get lots of big names associated with the school involved in the project. He's calling it "Hail and Unite."

He's hoping to get a crowd-funding campaign started to create and support the idea; though there were reportedly grumbles at the meeting that the goals needed to be clearer before any public funding campaign was launched.
