Snow Coming: 2-4 Inches Friday Through Saturday
DETROIT (WWJ) - As the extreme cold moves out a bit, Southeast Michigan is going to see some fresh snow.
AccuWeather Meteorologist Dave Bowers said the frigid weather system that's been hanging around over metro Detroit will finally move off-shore Friday evening, opening the door for a winter storm coming out of the southern plains.
"So, yeah, the warm up comes at the cost of it snowing," Bowers said. "Not a huge storm, but certainly enough to make a mess out of the roads here."

AccuWeather says the snow is expected to start falling Friday night — maybe 9-10 p.m. — and continue into Saturday, accumulating anywhere from 2 to 4 inches.
The high temperature Saturday will creep up into the low 30s (something metro Detroit hasn't seen in a little bit).
"Then, of course, once the storm leaves, the cold air comes back," Bowers said. Sunday's high is only 21.
He talked about the unfortunate winter weather pattern that's been persisting.
"It's like an open spigot from like Barrow, Alaska down to the Great Lakes. Meantime, they can't buy a drop of rain on the west coast for the past month or so," Bowers said. "It's been wicked. It really is quite a contrast. The western half of the country is having an extremely warm winter, and here it really is more like the Northwest Territories in our backyard.
"We're running about almost 12 degrees below normal his month."
