MSU's Macgarrett Kings Jr. Arrested For Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct

For the second time, Michigan State football player Macgarrett Kings Jr. was nabbed by the long arm of the law.

This time, according to court records, Kings was arrested at 2:36 a.m. Saturday in East Lansing on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, hindering and assaulting a police officer.

He was arraigned on the charges Tuesday in 54 B District Court, and scheduled for a pre-trial hearing March 19.

Kings, who will be a senior receiver in the fall at Michigan State University, faces a possible penalty of up to 93 days in jail and $500 in fines.

Spring football begins March 24.

"We're aware of the incident," Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio stated in a press release. "All of our student-athletes are held to a high standard, and individuals will be held accountable for their actions. We will manage this situation internally."

This is the second legal altercation for Kings, who was suspended for most of spring football a year ago, according to the Detroit Free Press, after an April 6 arrest for operating while intoxicated and driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content of 0.17 or above. which violates Michigan's "super drunk" law.

Kings was sentenced to 13 months of probation July 7 for the DUI under a plea deal.
