Family, Police Search For Missing Waterford Man Who May Be Off Prescribed Medication

WATERFORD (WWJ) -- Family members are searching for 29-year-old Daniel Macchiarella from Waterford, who was reported missing on February 11.

Macchiarella was last seen on February 2 and he hasn't reported to work or picked up his paychecks since. Family members are also worried that Macchiarella hasn't been taking his prescribed medication for a mental disorder.

According to his brother Ben, Macchiarella left with his house unlocked with his belongings inside, and his car out front.

"He's very paranoid. He refuses to take medication due to his paranoia," Ben Macchiarella told WWJ's Zahra Huber. "In my opinion, I'm thinking he was running from somebody or something. He's done it before. But before we knew where he was going, he told us, he said 'People are trying to kill me.' He's into all these secret societies and conspiracy theories."

Ben Macchiarella said when his brother did go missing in the past -- it was never for this long.

Daniel Macchiarella is described as 6-feet tall and 210 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Waterford police at 248-618-6105.
