Michigan Tech Leaders Named To Techweek100 List

By Edward Cardenas

SOUTHFIELD (CBS Detroit) - The release of the Techweek100 top leaders and innovators in the tech community in Detroit, and Michigan, reads as a who's-who of both well-known, and behind-the-scenes, innovators in the region and state.

Gov. Rick Snyder and Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan are on the list as are Dave Anderson the co-founder of Bamboo and Quicken Loans CIO Linglong He.

"The Techweek100 identifies leaders who have made a significant impact on the technology and innovation ecosystem in which they operate," Techweek stated in a post on its website. "The Techweek100 is not a ranking, but rather an annual list of 100 most distinguished technology organizations and their leaders selected by the Techweek community, Techweek Advisory Boards, and the Techweek team."

The list comes nearly one month before the Techweek technology conference and festival is held in Detroit. The city is one of six tech hubs across the country that will host the week-long showcase of local innovation presentations by a variety of speakers.

"I'm honored to be included on a list with so many distinguished folks in Detroit's tech world. It's great to see national tech-events coming to Detroit. At Bamboo, we like to serve as a platform for techies to do the best work of their lives," said Dave Anderson, Bamboo co-founder. "We provide 24/7 access to shared workspace & conference rooms, coffee, Wi-Fi, educational workshops and professional networking events. 24/7 access is especially important to our community of developers who frequently work through the night. We're happy to promote continued success as Detroit establishes itself as a technology hub!"

Gabe Karp, a partner at Detroit Venture Partners, added that he is honored to be named to the list.

"Detroit is quickly becoming a destination for entrepreneurs, business leaders and innovators  with game-changing ideas to set up shop and take advantage of the endless opportunities," said Gabe Karp, Partner, Detroit Venture Partners. "The Techweek100 list reflects this thriving community, and it is an honor to be a part of it."

Some of those named to the Techweek100 took to Twitter after list was released:
