Port Huron Northern High School Might Turn To Floor Ads To Pay For New Gym Floor

PORT HURON (AP) - A Port Huron high school short of money to replace the gym floor might sell ads that would be displayed on the floor.

Athletic director Jason Kasparian says he has solid interest from at least one company. He tells the Port Huron Times Herald that he's reaching out to others in the community.

The gym floor at Port Huron Northern High School is 50 years old. Students say it's slippery, hard and has little bounce. There have been at least 10 repairs.

Kasparian says the ads would cost $10,000 and be good for 10 years. The school has raised about $20,000 in cash and pledges but needs another $100,000. The deadline is April 15.
