Call For Artists: Entries Sought For Public Arts Project On Detroit's Eastside

DETROIT (AP) - Entries are being sought for an art installation on Detroit's east side.

Local artists are invited to submit proposals by April 1 for the Mack Avenue Green Thoroughfare Landmarks Public Arts Project.

Proposals will be evaluated April 15 by a panel of judges. Awards will be given out May 1 with the final project unveiled on June 1.

The Landmarks Public Art Competition is part of a strategy to address Detroit's blighted, vacant and unused commercial corridors. The Mack Avenue Green Thoroughfare project blends the work of local organizations with artists and art organizations.
