Police: Argument Sparked Deadly Shooting At Detroit Gas Station

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are searching for the gunman who shot two people, one fatally, during an argument at a gas station on the city's west side.

The shooting happened just after 12 a.m. Tuesday at the Citgo station on West Warren and Stahelin avenues, just west of the Southfield Freeway.

Police say there was an apparent argument between the two victims and the suspect outside of the station. At some point, the suspect pulled a gun and opened fire. He then fled the scene.

Both victims were taken to the hospital, where the 19-year-old died. The 22-year-old was last reported in temporary-serious condition. It doesn't appear that either victim worked at the gas station. Names were not immediately released.

Police are now looking for suspect, described only as a black male.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 313-267-4600 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
