3 Frat Members Facing Charges In Northern Michigan Ski Trip Vandalism
GAYLORD. Mich. (WWJ) - The president and treasurer of the now defunct University of Michigan chapter of the Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity have been charged in the Treeptops Resort vandalism case.
Otsego County Prosecutor Michael Rola says the two are charged with allowing minors in possession of alcohol and drugs on the premises. A third frat member is charged with malicious destruction.

Rola said they were no active security cameras on the property at the time of the incident, which does complicate the case.
Additional charges are expected.
"My office is awaiting additional information as to their specific identities and the exact actions that they did, and in that way the charge can be appropriate," Rola said.
"It would be our hopes that all of the individuals involved, at some point in time, will be held accountable for their actions," he added.
No names have been release in the case, which involves roughly $400,0000 in damage to the Gaylord resort between Jan. 16 and 18.
The investigation is being handled by the Michigan State Police.
The students involved have already been ordered to pay restitution to Treetops and the city of Gaylord.
