Lions Not Saying Whether They Will Pick Up Fifth-Year Option Of Riley Reiff

PHOENIX (CBS Detroit) -- Detroit Lions general manager Martin Mayhew declined to discuss on Monday whether the team will pick up the fifth-year option of left tackle Riley Reiff, who could move to guard in the upcoming season.
"I'm not going to get into that right now," Mayhew said Monday at a sit-down with Detroit reporters at the Arizona Biltmore. "We haven't made a final determination on how that process is going to go."
The Lions drafted Reiff in the first round in 2012, and he has proven both capable and durable, starting every game but one over the last two seasons.
Mayhew said the question of whether Reiff will play tackle or guard in 2015 would be better answered by head coach Jim Caldwell or offensive line coach Jeremiah Washburn. However, Mayhew left open the possibility of a switch.
"He's a heck of a good football player," Mayhew said. "There's a lot of speculation about all the movement. I think he could play anywhere he wants to play and play at a high level."
Caldwell is expected to be made available for questions Wednesday.
